HELPFUL HSPA HINTS! - "How To" Presentation (DUE 2/25)



DIRECTIONS: Using the link provided, create a presentation piece using either Prezi or Google Presentation that accurately addresses and summarizes information about one of the following categories of the English/LAL section of the HSPA:
  • Persuasive Writing Essay
  • Expository Writing Essay
  • Persuasive Text Response Essay
  • Narrative Text Response Essay
  • Open-Ended Response Essay
In all of the presentations, the following questions should be addressed:

What is the goal of the essay?

What is the structure of the essay? How many paragraphs? What does each paragraph do?

What elements and devices are used to achieve the goal of the essay?

How might this type of writing help students beyond high school?

What kind of scoring rubric is used to evaluate the writing? What score is needed to pass?

You may work in groups of 3 on this project. Please post the hyperlink to your presentation in the comment box by Friday, 2/25/2011 - NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS PROJECT ASSIGNMENT (only one person needs to submit to the comment box, but all 3 names must be included with the post).

*I am willing to offer an extra credit opportunity to any groups that do an outstanding job and are willing to present their Helpful HSPA Hints presentation to the class.
